Playing at the park

We went to the park on Saturday, October 11th. Fall has been gorgeous this year. This day it was just starting to bloom, it is now in full swing. The boys had a great time playing and swinging. Finn loved the leaves. I think he actually ate part of one b/c I was busy taking pitures and didn't get there fast enough! Shane had to work today, so he's still in his work clothes. We enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine! There is a lake at the park...Hudson Springs Park. We go here often as it's so beautiful. There is a 2 mile hiking trail that I do often with Finn. We love it!

Finn's Dedication

Finn was dedicated at our church on Sunday, October 12th. It was awesome! In the morning service, we took an oath as parents to bring him up in a loving, educational, Christian home and to do our best to 'train him up' in the name and ways of the Lord. In the afternoon we gathered again, with family, to have a special ceremony where we laid hands on Finn and prayed over him. The pastor calls each family up seperately and the three of us prayed over him. They also told us what his name means (which his name is actually David Finn - "beloved, fair child") and read a Bible verse they gave for him. David is a strong name and we were told he will be strong, courageous and a leader. I pray those things over him every night as I rock him to sleep already, along with many other things. :) My mom, Shane's parents and our family went out to eat after...it was a great day. My dad was out of town...otherwise he would be there too.
All the pics of the actual dedication are dark/blurry b/c of the lighting in the church. So unfortunately I have nothing to share of the actual ceremony. However, here are a few pictures of me with the kids at the house in between the morning and afternoon services. I am usually the one with the camera, so I was thrilled to have some new photos of me with Finn!

New Camper!

Shane found a camper for us! There was a guy selling it who never used it!!! His wealthy brother bought all of his siblings the same camper, stocked it full of goodies (dishes, utensils, pots and pans, linens, candles, pot holders...you name it...and they all still had the tags on them!) and then it sat in their barn until they decided they wanted the space! So we got a brand 'new' camper fully stocked for less then 1/2 price! Way to go, honey!!
I could see myself camping in this too...it's THAT nice. I used to tent camp all the time in college and my 20's but these days...I like warmth. This has a heater and a/c! It even has a bathroom/shower with a little tub area that I could bathe Finn! I can see us using this a lot next summer! Fun times!
My gorgeous honey
Hudson dancing to the music
Finn LOVES the windows...and what a cute little bottom in his big boy jeans!
hey there, blue eyes!
Guess who snagged daddy's cell phone?
Kitchen area
Still has the cell phone...
Microwave, stove top, sleeping area
Ok, usually I wouldn't take a photo of the bathroom...but look how nice this is!!!

There is a fridge/freezer too!
Good times ahead...

Where is Pointer?

Finn has figured out how to point! He now points at things and says 'this' (or shall I say, his version of 'this' :). It's adorable (as I think every little thing he does is!!). Here he is in our new (well, new to us) camper pointing at the radio.

At the park, pointing at mommy as I take a gazillion pictures of him.
At home, pointing at Blues Clues.
Along with having Pointer in our home, I've picked up a leg attachment. It's great...here's how it works. every time I get in the kitchen to cook, do dishes or open mail, the leg attachment comes over and hangs on for dear life mumbling 'mamamamamama' the whoooooooole time! ; )

October

First I'll start off with a few photos of the kids. Well, with Hudson at school, I only have one photo of him w/ Finn...Finn's home all day, so I have lots of time to capture him. Finn is growing so fast and changing so quickly. I love how he helps me with the dishes...the dishwasher is one of his favorite 'toys'. Of course, it's best when the dishes are clean! His other favorite pasttime is helping mommy with the laundry. The front loaders are like live screens for entertainment. I wish our life is more glamorous...but these are our stories!
I've been busy with photography, I had several HS seniors to work with this month. I got a new camera, so learning that as well. I also upgraded my software...which has been a huge challenge and I'm slowly learning. I chopped my hair off (couldn't stand the last of the permanent...which I got at a weak moment of postpartum). I finally get some color this week to go w/ my new cut!!
Shane is busy wrapping up landscaping and now into leaf removal and fall clean up, fertilization, etc. He is gearing up for the season of Christmas Lights and then it will go right into plowing. It's funny when people ask if he has a 'down' season being a landscaper....not really. : ) Which is good...and bad.
Hudson is one of the best artist I know! His coloring ability is off the charts. He is very diligent and careful. He loves to ride his bike and play with the neighborhood friends. He's VERY excited about the new camper. Shane takes him to WV with my brother/nephew to go 4-wheeling and camping several times a year. This way, they'll have heat (and a/c in the summer) and running water if needed. That's my kind of camping!!
So here is Finn in the laundry room...he's my big helper! (please ignore the mess!!)

When I work on the computer with the kids home, Finn usually comes over and hangs on the gate and complains till I come back to play. :) Here is Hudson and Finn both at the door!
Finn LOVES anything with wheels. Shane was nicknamed 'motor mouth' growing up b/c he always does 'brrrrrrmmm' when concentrating on things. Shane still does this...when backing the trucks up w/ trailers. Finn does it too...so funny.I just loved these faces...he is changing so much so fast!!!
