Memorial Day - small town Ohio

We went to Suffield for the Memorial Day Parade. It's where Shane and I grew up and where most of our families (both) still reside. I don't know if everyone knows this, but Shane and I were neighbors growing up. Crazy, huh. Took me moving out west for him to find interest in me. Hahah. :) So here is our group on the sideline. My dad, his wife Joyce, her daughter Jen & family and my brother Kevin & family.

Shane and Hudson sat like this the whole time. Very cute!
Finn & Brice (Jen's son)
Kaden, my nephew. He is 32 days younger than Finn.
I've never been to a Memorial Day parade elsewhere (didn't make it to one when I lived in AZ or CO) so this is all I know. Tractors, decorated bikes, ball teams, marching band, fancy (or semi-fancy) cars with political people throwing candy and campaigning, and always the finale of rescue vehicles WAILING their sirens. The kids loved it. Finn stayed in his stroller the whole time...glued.
My niece, Madi (second from right) with her team throwing us LOTS of candy.
My brother, Tom, with his son Ian and their team.
My step-sister, Jen, lives right on the main drag. So we went back to her house for a yummy cook out. She lives right next door to the elementary. After our feast we borrowed a ball field and had a little game of our own.
The boys...so serious!
Even the girls participated. Here's Madi, then Joyce and then Sydney.
Jen & her husband Brian
Then this is my dad, grandpa, up to bat!
Hudson ducked out of the game and played on the tires for a bit. King of the Hill!
I didn't play the game, but they were kind enough to let me bat! Here I'm on 3rd.
After the baseball tired us out we went back and relaxed at Jen's. Sydney brought her riding Barbie car. Finn jumped in and took off! Never thought this would be his first choice of car! I thought he'd want more muscle!!!
Awesome time! Thank you Brian & Jen for opening and sharing your home! We loved it!
